Literature Text

i. Poor word.
Everyone manipulates, twists, uses that word to suit their own personal definition. It has been used as a synonym for just about everything.

Artistic,
Creative,
Freaky,
Special,
Rebellious,
Weird,
Antisocial,
Unusual,
Peculiar,
Poetic,
Nerdy,
Fat,
Ugly,
Pretty,
Skinny,
Musical,
Strange.

We've all heard them before.

Really, it just breaks down into simple deductions.

-No one will ever be exactly like you.
-You are different from everybody else (even without trying or being aware).
-Therefore, you are unique.

It's simple, Watson.

~

ii. In the rare case that you are not trying to be unique, well, guess what.

You are anyway.
There's simply no way around it.

No matter how hard you try, you will never fit in.
No one will.
Not perfectly, at least.

The world is not a puzzle; we are not jigsaw pieces. Rather, the world is a color wheel. Your specific color may only vary from the others in the slightest, infinitesimal degree of a shade, but

It still will.

So, if you're having trouble coming to grips with this fact, I suggest you get over it. Because something that hasn't changed from the beginning of time until now probably isn't going to anytime soon.

I would further suggest that you try to be a chameleon (a proper one - one that changes color according to temperature and mood).

Don't lose your muchness. It's rather hard to get back.

~

iii. Finally, a word of advice to the cocky ones. Those who believe there is such a thing as "more unique". Those who think that they exemplify this adjective more than others. For you, I will put it simply.

Poppies like to show off, while shy forsythia hide underneath the shade. Either way, they're both still flowers.

What I'm really trying to say is this:

You're special...

Just like everybody else.
This is kind of a rant. ^^; I'm not sure if I like how blunt it is yet. What do you think?

Food for Thought: In any society, those who adhere most closely to the group's norms will be the most popular.
Well, what would happen if nobody tried to adhere to those norms?
.
It's just a possibility. Really interesting to consider.
